Junior Specialist Gateway Air Export (m/f/d) (Airfreight Operations – Vienna)
Your mission
As a Junior Specialist Gateway Air Export, you willplay a key role in managing and coordinating air export consolidation
operations at our Vienna Gateway. Your mission is to ensure efficient, cost‑effective, and compliant airfreight movements by consolidating shipments, coordinating with internal and external partners, and maintaining smooth dailyoperations within a dynamic, international logistics environment.
You will act as acentral point of contact between branches, airlines, warehouses, and trucking
partners, ensuring high service quality, operational accuracy, and
profitability of gateway consolidations.
Your profile
What you will do- Organize and steer daily air export gateway operations, including consolidation (MAWB), capacity and uplift planning
- Plan and manage BUPs, ULD stock, airline pre‑bookings, and linehaul operations between gateways
- Prepare and issue MAWBs, manifests, and handle electronic data transmission to airlines
- Coordinate closely with airfreight branches, warehouse teams, trucking providers, airlines, and customs
- Monitor export shipments, provide pre‑alerts, and ensure service updates to internal stakeholders
- Handle accruals and billing, including invoicing to branches and additional charge settlements
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, export controls, and legal requirements
- Support the Team Leader by reporting irregularities, claims, or operational issues
- Completed vocational training or degree in Freight Forwarding / Logistics (e.g. Spedition & Logistikdienstleistung)
- At least 2 years of experience in air export operations (gateway or consolidation experience is a strong plus)
- Solid knowledge of air export processes, consolidation planning, and airline coordination
- Strong organizational skills with a structured and reliable working style
- Service‑oriented mindset and ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to make quick, well‑founded decisions in a fast‑paced operational environment
- Fluent English and German (spoken and written)
- Willingness to work shift patterns and support operations in a 24/7 environment when required
- Eligibility for reliability/security clearance and willingness to complete required trainings (e.g. IATA DGR)
