Sourcing Group Lead Buyer (f/m/d)
For our production and assembly site in Lengau, we are looking for a Sourcing Group Lead Buyer (m/f/d) for the welded main components segment.
The Sourcing Group Welded Main Components is a strategically important and growing purchasing segment at PALFINGER. In your role as a Strategic Buyer, you will be responsible for the strategic procurement management in this area. Additionally, you will have a project management & target costing role in procurement for the development process.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage the sourcing of drawing and standard parts, develop sourcing strategies, select suppliers, and negotiate contracts on a global, regional, or local level for the welded main components segment.
- Lead procurement activities in development and MoB projects, focusing on cost analysis and close coordination with global teams and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee supplier relationships, conduct audits, support supplier development, and manage processes like RFQs, delivery strategies, and supplier phase-in/phase-out activities.
- Analyze supplier markets, identify cost-saving and optimization opportunities, and implement strategies to ensure material availability and process improvements.
- Align with R&D, production, and product line teams to bundle requirements, support the Make-or-Buy process, and ensure smooth supply chain operations.
- You have successfully completed a technical or commercial education (e.g., mechanical engineering apprenticeship/technical college/degree).
- You already have professional experience in procurement, ideally with a technical focus and in an international setting.
- You are confident in using MS Office applications and already have experience working with SAP R3/S4 Hana.
- You have fluent English skills for negotiations and are willing to travel internationally (approximately 25%).
- Your strong communication skills and negotiation talent make you a confident and assertive personality.

The minimum gross wage according to the Austrian metal industry collective agreement is EUR 52.197,04 per year. According to experience and qualification, we offer a market-conform overpayment.
