Senior Expert Greenhouse Gas Inventories and Climate Mitigation Measures (d/m/w) - full-time
To strengthen our team Climate Policy & Measures we are looking for a full-time Senior Expert Greenhouse Gas Inventories and Climate Mitigation Measures.
Our team focuses on cross-sectoral climate mitigation strategies and develops both national and regional greenhouse gas (GHG) and air pollutant scenarios. We monitor the effectiveness of climate measures, develop strategies in the fields of forestry and land use change, support the European Commission with GHG reporting, conduct international training and capacity-building programs, and are responsible for the implementation and further development of the EU Emissions Trading Registry.
Your Contribution to Environment & Society- Lead and coordinate projects in the field of emissions inventories and climate mitigation
- Participate in international reviews and capacity-building projects
- Strategically develop and expand the team's capacity-building activities
- Develop technical tools to support emissions reporting and projections
- Support the acquisition and design of new projects
- Collaborate with international partners and organizations
- Completed university degree in a scientific or technical field (or equivalent qualification)
- Experience in preparing GHG and/or air pollutant emission inventories
- Project management experience, ideally in an international context
- Knowledge of capacity building is an advantage
- Experience in developing emissions projections and scenarios is a plus
- Excellent English skills are required; proficiency in Russian or Ukrainian is an advantage
- Strong team player with initiative and a structured work method
